Blue Parakeet Rugs Dress the Floor at GRACIE for LA Legends Design Week

We are so excited to share this one! During LA Legends Design Week, some of the most inspiring showrooms along Melrose Avenue, La Cienega Boulevard, and beyond open their windows to designers who transform them into incredible installations — and once again, Blue Parakeet Rugs was invited to be part of the magic at GRACIE.
This year, designer Alex Azat of Plaster & Patina reimagined GRACIE's window into a richly layered atelier-like scene filled with painterly textures, trellis structures, and artful objects. The stunning exterior florals spilling across the façade were created by The Hidden Garden, and we were called in to dress the floor with antique rugs — that final soulful layer underfoot. Install day with Alex was a blast — rolling out rugs, layering them just right against GRACIE's incredible hand-painted panels, and watching everything come together in real time.
Old world rugs anchor the vignette, bringing depth, pattern, and history to what was already a beautifully rich composition. It's a truly special moment for us — we've had the honor of dressing window displays for previous years of LEGENDS at both GRACIE and Una Malan, and being invited back always feels like coming home to something we love.
LEGENDS week turns Los Angeles into a hub of creativity where the global design community gathers to connect, share ideas, and celebrate the craft that shapes interiors — with panels, events, and appearances from leading voices like Ken Fulk, Jake Arnold, and Nickey Kehoe. We feel so grateful to be part of it.
