Blue Parakeet Rugs at Pasadena Showcase House in Architectural Digest

Architectural Digest has the scoop on the Pasadena Showcase House of Design, which this year was graced by 30 designers and one stunning Blue Parakeet rug. This 2025 Bauer Estate revamp feels especially meaningful as some of the participating designers lost their own homes in the LA fires. While the property is packed with standout spaces decorated by star designers, we’re especially smitten with Julia Chasman’s cozy, character-packed library featuring Blue Parakeet Rugs.
Julia was a first-time Pasadena Showcase House designer, but being a seasoned pro, it’s not surprising her Library got so much love from design fans and experts. AD writes, “Julia Chasman—a former movie producer who brings a sharp, whimsical eye for curated vintage—turns her talents to the intimate downstairs library […][her] installation is squarely at home in the rising intentional-clutter trend.”
Having worked with her for years on a variety of projects, we’ve loved her eye when mixing vintage pieces with rich textures, layered lighting, and a ton of charm. And of course we were thrilled to see a brightly colored Blue Parakeet Rugs gem featured as part of her eclectic, dreamy library. Sheba even visited and took a few snaps with Julia in the finished space!
