3'10" x 9' Antique Kazak Runner

3'10" x 9' Antique Kazak Runner

Paisley pattern heaven! Handwoven in the 1880s, this is an antique Kazak, a Caucasian runner with a great design. It has an all over pattern of paisleys running down the field, amazing animal elements that the nomads wove in that lock in much symbolism and meaning. The wool was dyed naturally with vegetables and the colors are bold, yet soft.

The field ground is indigo blue. The borders are ivory and dark brick red. Other colors include tangerine, royal blue, pistachio green, light peach, and tan.

It is in timeworn condition and parallel to its age and history. An excellent runner with loads of history and value. The length is 9' and the width varies from 3'3" to 3'10"...characteristics and authentic charm of an old handmade runner.
