3'1" x 9" 19th Century Russian Runner

3'1" x 9" 19th Century Russian Runner

Exceptional? Yes! This is a late 19th Century Shirvan, woven in the region of Caucasus. It was produced with vegetable dyed wool. It embodies the geometric and gorgeous design and color that are traditional features of these rugs and it is just so nicely timeworn! We have it for a steal deal for a nice size, old rug that would be a great home decor item! The colors, design and style are simply superb. That blue ground!

The field of this rug has stunning floral medallions and features wine cups and serrated leaves in the border that the nomads wove in. Their rugs were quite symbolic! This is quite a historical rug that we got from a Bedford Farmhouse built in 1700! The rug is rich in culture, song and story and the artisan and dyer truly put beauty to work.

This is a stout rug, ready for another century of use, is in good condition with some natural wear.
